Long before MELT Beauty Company, jewelry was already a part of my story.

I grew up surrounded by beautiful jewelry through my family’s business, Kalin Jewelers. A family tradition since 1906. My parents and grandparents spent their lives in the jewelry business, and over the years they acquired some truly special pieces, including a beautiful collection of turquoise jewelry.

These are not pieces I went out and purchased to create a new collection. They come directly from my family’s jewelry store and have been with our family for years. Some are vintage, some are wonderfully unique, and many reflect the beautiful craftsmanship traditionally associated with Southwestern turquoise jewelry.

You’ll find sterling silver, turquoise in an incredible range of natural colors and matrix patterns, handcrafted-style settings, silverwork, inlay designs, and pieces that simply aren’t made the same way anymore.

And that is exactly what I love about them.

Every scratch, variation, bit of patina, and perfectly imperfect stone is part of the character of vintage jewelry. I don’t want to erase that history, I want to preserve it.

For me, offering these pieces is incredibly personal. They remind me of my parents, my grandparents, the jewelry store I grew up with, and especially the generations of my family who taught me to appreciate beautiful things that were made to last.

There is only one of many of these pieces. Once one finds its new home, there may never be another exactly like it.

This ring is more than a piece of jewelry. It is a piece of my family.

Kalin Jewelers was established in 1906, and I am honored to begin sharing some of the pieces that came from my parents’ jewelry store, especially those created by my dad, who has since passed away. His hands, his craftsmanship, and his love for the jewelry business live on through pieces like this.

This beautiful 14K gold solitaire ring features a .20 carat round diamond, noted by my mom as G color, SI2 clarity, 3.9gms in a classic size 7 setting. The simple, high set elegant design allows the diamond to be the focus, while the polished gold band gives it that timeless look that never goes out of style.

What makes this ring truly irreplaceable to me is the little handwritten bag that has stayed with it. Those are my mom’s notes. Seeing her handwriting alongside a ring my dad made brings together two people and a family business that mean so much to me.

This beautiful 10K gold vintage swirl/crossover ring features approx. .35 carats of 23 small round diamonds in a classic size 7 setting. A beautifully sculpted ring featuring graceful, overlapping ribbons of gold, accented with multiple rows of channel set diamonds. The sweeping crossover design creates a dimensional, almost heart like bow appearance. 

What makes this ring truly irreplaceable to me is the little handwritten bag that has stayed with it. Those are my mom’s notes. Seeing her handwriting alongside a ring my dad made brings together two people and a family business that mean so much to me.
